Having read the PortMon log, I think the problem is not related to  
the data themselves, but to the control protocol handling ( RTS,  
timeouts, etc... ).
So I am not sure the 3-computers set-up will help me ...

Anyway, I'll make use of PortMon on windows for the time being, I guess.
